Brendan MacNeill
Biography

I shoot People & Places and Food & Drink with a natural everyday style for a broad range of clients, frequently capturing the unexpected and charming moments of the subject’s day. Edinburgh based, I'm available for stills and video commissions throughout the UK and beyond.

Dublin born and raised, I was printing images in my bedroom darkroom while just a teenager. After moving to London I studied at the renowned Polytechnic of Central London gaining a degree in Film & Photographic Arts. My practice evolved from that point to include portraiture and fine monochrome landscapes. There followed a move to Edinburgh where I worked for Scotland on Sunday and the Scotsman and quickly gained a reputation for going for the unusual - Mohammed al-Fayed in a kilt, up close on Jimmy Boyle, Scotland’s most dangerous criminal and iconic designer Terence Conran in a ‘see you Jimmy’ bonnet.
