Al Overdrive is a London based ex-forensic analyst who is known for creating nuanced portrait and lifestyle documentary images. His narrative cinematic style invokes feelings of intimacy and authentic connection, which draws the viewer into that world.
His clients are drawn to his distinct style and positive personality, which embodies his ability to romanticise unguarded moments showing a warmth that is both idyllic and delicate, creating compelling visuals for use in promotional, marketing, and social media campaigns.
I spent the definitive years of my life growing up in the wide open landscapes of the Namib Desert, Eastern Free State, Namaqualand and various other remote parts of Southern Africa. Combining my background in commercial film making with a photographic apprenticeship, I value the importance of story telling in my images and videos looking to express a greater tale through a collection of shots or images in order to capture “The moment”. I’ve now settled in London and support a worldwide client base.
I create photography and film for NGOs, brands, publications and individuals with a unique story.
Stories have always fascinated me; whether it be the story of someone in a developing country overcoming poverty through social enterprise, or a craftsperson in the Lake District sharing their passions and heart behind their craft.
Stories have the power to connect, engage and speak to the heart of people.
